The Rainy Season

There are six seasons in Bangladesh. The rainy season is one of them. In our country, the months of June, July and August are usually the rainy season. It rains heavily during these months. The sky is often cloudy and the weather is always dull.

Flashes of lightning and thunder are very common in this season. Water gathers on the roads and they become muddy and slippery. The rivers, canals and ponds become full of water. This season is very useful to the farmers. In the early part of the season, the farmers sow the seeds of various crops. The field takes green colour after a month and it gives a beautiful look all over Bangladesh.

Water is life of the plants. During the season, all kinds of trees and plants grow rapidly. Sometimes, heavy rainfall causes damage to crops and brings misery to the farmers. At the same time, if it does not rain sufficiently, the farmers also suffer a great loss.
