Global Warming
Global warming means the increase of world's temperature. It has recently been reported that the world's climate is changing significantly. The world temperature is increasing day by day. The greenhouse effect is the most likely cause of this global warming. Carbon-di-oxide is mainly responsible for the greenhouse effect. Pollutants such as methane and chloro-fluoro-carbons etc. also contribute much to the increase of global warming. Deforestation around the world, increasing number of vehicles on the roads, burning down of tropical rainforests, rapid growth of industry etc. are increasing the amount of carbon-di-oxide. This gas accumulates in the atmosphere and increases the temperature.

The effects of global warming are serious and dangerous. It has been predicted that by midway through the next century world temperature may be risen by as much as 4ᴼc. This will greatly reduce mankind's ability to grow food and damage wildlife and wilderness. As a result of global warming, the ice in the polar regions is melting. As a result, the sea level is rising and the coastal areas are being flooded gradually. So, one day the farmland will  go under water. The alarming news for Bangladesh is that the lower southern part of the country may one day go under water.

At present global warming has become a matter of great concern for the world. Some measures should be taken to prevent it. We should plant more trees as trees absorb carbon-di-oxide. We must not burn and destroy our forests. Old vehicles must not be allowed to ply on the roads. Moreover, vehicles may use CNGs (Compressed Natural Gas). The most important thing is to raise public awareness in this regard.
