A new cardiac hospital contaning 100 bed was inaugurated in Dhanmondi in the capital yesterday with a view to bringing the health care services to the doorsteps of the people.
The health Minister inaugurated the hospital while the Health Secretary was present as the special guest.
The aim of the hospital is to provide comprehensive cardiac care to the patients. It is completed with three separate operation theaters and an intensive care unit.
Internationally reputed cardiac specialists are expected to visit the hospital twice a month to provide special care to the patients.
The hospital has to far appointed 30 doctors and 75 nurses to ensure maximum care.
Hospital sources say they would provide some limited treatment to the poor people free of cost.
Director of the hospital said many patients go abroad for treatment, which is very expensive. He expressed the hope that, they would be able to attract those patients to seek treatment at home.
