Severe Load-shedding in Mymensingh
Sujon Ahmed, Mymensingh, 03 November: Electricity is certainly a boon to the people of modern age. But it has become a nuisance for the city dwellers of Mymensingh. Load-shedding is occurring here every now and then. In fact, it has become a regular phenomenon here. As a result, the people of Mymensingh are getting deprived of electricity based advantages.
As a part of the total failure of electricity, load-shedding is increasing day by day in Mymensingh town. At office hours, electricity remains off. At night it also occurs frequently. As a result, the city-dwellers have to face various troubles. The students keep off their books and dive into gossip. The housewives get interrupted while preparing refreshments for their family.
Alongside, business firms, shops, and so many institutions come to a standstill for the time being. Due to load-shedding, food and life-saving medicine kept in the refrigerators are getting spoiled too. A housewife informs that nowadays electricity remains by chance. Some businessmen of the town also inform us the same.
At night the roads of the town remain dark and criminals take advantage of the darkness. It is learnt that insufficient power plants are mainly responsible for severe load-shedding. However, this situation cannot be allowed to continue longer.
To tackle this power crisis head on, the government should take necessary steps as early as possible. Besides, awareness must be raised among the people to prevent the misuse of electricity.
