A Terrible Road Accident in Dhaka
Sujon Ahmed,Dhaka, 10 January: A girl child was killed brutally in a road mishap near Mymensingh Medical College Hospital yesterday.
The accident took place at 1.30 pm on the by-pass road of Mymensingh town. A Dhaka bound speedy truck ran over the girl while she was crossing the road on her way back from school. Her head was crushed under the wheels of the truck. All these happened in an instant.
It is reported that the child named Swapna (8), daughter of Ismail Hossain, was a student of local government primary school reading in class III.
Soon after the accident, a lot of people from the neighborhood rushed to the spot, but the killer truck managed to escape in the mean time. Finding the victim dead and lying in a pool of blood, people became agitated. Consequently, the traffic in the road stopped for several hours.
After a couple of hours, the DC of Mymensingh along with police force hurried to the spot, dispersed the agitating mob and managed to re-operate the traffic.
The dead body was sent Mymensingh Medical College for autopsy. A case was also filed to the local police station in this connection.
