My Garden

My garden is in our house-premises. It is near my reading room. It forms a part of our homestead and adds to its beauty. At first we selected a big plot of fertile land. We cleared it of weeds, ploughed it deep and made the soil loose. We put enough manure on it and plant fruit and flower plants and sow seeds of flowers and vegetables. We put a strong fence round the whole plot to keep away cattle and naughty children. In a few years the fruit plants grew up and came to bear fruit. The flower plants took a comparatively short time to grow up and to bring in flowers. Now various kinds of flowers and fruits grow in the garden. It requires care and protection. I myself work in it for one or two hours every day. My garden is a source of health, wealth and pleasure to me.
