The Liberation War Museum

Liberation war museum bears the testimony of the liberation war. Bangladesh became independent in the 16th December, 1971 after a bloody war of nine months. People of all classes took part in the war. The liberation war is an important part of our history. The government established liberation war museum to remind the new generation of the war.

Recently I paid a visit to the liberation war museum. The museum is situated in Agargaon, Dhaka. The museum is divided into four galleries. Photographs and documents of the freedom fighters are kept here. There are also many newspaper clippings and other objects used by the freedom fighters during the war. The Declaration of Independence by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is kept at gallery 3. At gallery 6, there are some personal belonging of the martyred intellectuals of Bangladesh. We saw many glasses, pens, note-books and other things used by the martyrs. There are some video clips of the war.

The Liberation War Museum tells us about the great war of freedom and inspires us to love our country most.
