Annual Sports Day in Our College
A few days ago, annual sports were held in our college compound. It was a day of great joy and enthusiasm for the students, teachers and guardians. On the previous day of the ceremony, we decorated every corner of the college very tastefully including the main building with colourful flags and festoons. The college auditorium was also decorated nicely. A large stage was erected. We did those under the instruction of some teachers.
Sufficient sitting arrangements were made for the guests, teachers and students. A band party was managed to enhance the attraction of the sports. The Honourable Education Minister was the chief guest. With the arrival of the chief guest, our function began. The national flag was hoisted and some pigeons were set free as the symbol of peace by the chief guest. The programs began at 10 am with the running of the Olympic torch by a student of our college. The most remarkable events of the sports were 100 meters, 400 meters 800 meters races, javelin throw, putting the shot, long jump, high jump, pole vault, weight lifting etc. Many girls also took part in these events.
When the sports were over, the champions of the sports were rewarded by the chief guest. The prizewinners received their prizes with the blessings of the teachers and the guests. Finally, the chief guest made an instructive and didactic speech that inspired us greatly. With the speech of the chief guest the function came to an end. We enjoyed the sports very much.
