Significant rise in GPA-5 achievers.

H.S.C. result out; pass percentage 86.82; 25,512 secure GPA-5


Sirajganj April-18 : The result of Higher Secondary Certificate and equivalent examinations 2017.shoow a significant rise in the number of students passed and GPA-5 achievers. The results were published 57 days after the examination was completed.

The percentage of students passed this year’s HSC exams under eight education boards stands at 86.82 with 25,513 GPA-5 scorers . The pass percentage increased by 1,39 points while GPA-5 achievers 7,290, than that of the last year’s . A total of 5,33,369students passed in this years HSC and equivalent exams out of 718,084 examinees. The combined pass percentage under the education boards including Madrasa Education Board and Technical Education Boards is 74.28 .

Like all other years Alim examines under Madrasa Board did well compared to other nine boards with a pass rate of 86.55 .

Amongs the eight general boards the Sylhet Boards tops highest pass rate of 76.12 while the Dinajpur Board get the bottom with a lowest pass rate 67.54 .

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina  formally around 10.00 am. yesterday.

Announcing the official results at press conference at the education ministry yesterday noon he said , “ This success in the country’s one of the largest pusblic  examination is the outcome of the efforts of all. “

Sirajganj B.L College  and Solanga college in Rajshahi  secured the first and second positions respectively in the list of 20 institutions under Rajshahi Board .

Holy Cross college and R U M C College in the capital ranked third and fourth positions respectively.

The number of colleges with cent percent pass rate decrased to 714 from last year’s 755 while the number of institutions with zero pass rate came down to 25 from 41 in 2011.
