Tea as a Refreshing Drink
    The word ‘tea’ is a very common word in the present world. After water tea is the most widely drunk beverage in the world. Tea is called aromatic beverage. Its flavor is liked by people all over the world. A cup of fresh tea refreshes us. It refreshes our mind and brings enthusiasm to work.
     
    There is no certain history of the origin of tea. But many people believe that it was first found in china or the Chinese first started drinking tea. At first it was not a common drink rather the Chinese physician used to use at as a medicine. In the 17th century tea reached Europe and the European introduced it to the rest of the world. The British first introduced tea in the Indian sub-continent. It is said that at first the British merchant used to entertain people with tea free of cost and later it became a great business for them.
     
    Tea is of different types: black tea, green tea, oolong tea, premium tea, serving tea and additive tea. Among all these, black tea and green tea are widely drunk. Now a day people drink green tea as a medicine.
     
    Tea plant is cultivated on high places which are not submerged and where water cannot gather. A tea plant takes at least three years to be ready for plucking leaves and twelve years to bear seed. The plant is important not for its seeds but for its leaves.
     
    We know that tea dispels our tiredness. But has some other benefits too. Tea contains different ingredients which are very good to our health like: flavinoids, amino acid, vitamin, caffeine and others. Researchers have found that tea can even prevent cancer. It also helps to protect our liver. Green tea fights against a deadly disease namely cardiovascular. So, we see that one cup of hot tea make our life safe and sound.
     
    It refreshes not only human being, it refreshes our economy also. Millions of people are directly or indirectly dependent on tea for their living. China grows the highest amount of tea in the world and a large portion of her foreign currency comes from tea. In our country, tea cultivation was started by the British in 1855 and now Bangladesh is in the 11th position as the highest tea producing country. About 90 thousand workers work here for their living and we earn millions of dollar exporting tea.
     

     

    We should put more importance on tea not as a refreshing drink only, as a mean of strong economy, too. At the same time we have conduct researches to improve tea. Then it will refresh both our body and nation.
